The Joys of Teething

Caroline has been working on her four upper teeth for the past week or so. She has only had two teeth for the past 3 months, so we figured she was due to get some sooner or later. BUT, four at once is a little much! Her third one popped through on Monday (3/28) and tooth number four made its grand appearance today. All this teething has made for an extra drooly, runny nosed, and sensitive child. It's hard to imagine what she is going to look like with 6 teeth in that mouth of hers!

The Countdown Is On! One Month To Go!

In one short month, our little girl will be ONE!! She seems to have changed more than ever in the past month, going from a dependent baby to an independent toddler. Caroline is definitely getting more of her own personality. She loves seeing dogs and being tickled! On the other hand, she HATES the grass. I guess she doesn't like the feel of it, which seems odd. She will literally start crying when you put her down in the grass. Here is our "princess" (as daddy calls her) on her 11 month birthday!!
Caroline:
  • You were plagued with your second ear infection the first week of March. EVERYONE is glad that is done and over with!
  • You started swim class (3/12) and went to the park the first time (3/17). I'm not sure if you enjoy the activities more or watching and smiling at other kids. You are becoming Miss Social Butterfly!!
  • You are talking up a storm now. You are able to say "light," "hi," and some other type of word for "doggie." They may not be the most understandable to others, but you say it the same each time so it counts.
  • Daddy taught you how to turn off lights. You are now mezmorized with looking at lights and watching them as they go on and off.
  • You weigh right at 19 1/2 pounds.
  • You decided last week that you prefer to be more independent while eating your food, which gives us a challenge in coming up with new ways to give you fruits and veggies. You tend to prefer meat and dairy products.

First Swim Class

Caroline started her first swim class this past Saturday (3/12) at the Rec Plex in St. Peters. There are 7 kids total in her class. She did pretty good considering she was still recovering from being sick all week!

Note: She is not the baby that is crying in the majority of videos. He had a rough time in the water.

Here is Caroline getting dunked under water for the first time and playing Humpty Dumpty. In the bottom two videos, she is having fun swimming with Daddy.
